Sarah plays ukulele songs that are usually funny but sometimes sad. You can buy her solo album, You Have Queer Street Cred, on Bandcamp.
She also frequently performs with her brother, Aaron J. Shay. Their duo show, The Shay & Shay Radio Hour, combines folk songs, storytelling, jokes, sweet sibling harmonies, and just a touch of the occult.
She was also founder, washboard player, and vocalist of the illustrious Seattle street folk band The Mongrel Jews from 2009-2017.
Other People’s Projects
Sarah loves performing with other acts, and has been privileged to provide live washboard and vocals for a variety of artists, including Molly Lewis, Jason Webley, The Nathaniel Johnstone Band, Strangely, Bellow Wing, Eliza Rickman, The Them, and Kids on Fire. She has served as music director and performed live for local theater groups such as Hello Earth Productions and WhatNot Theatrics.
